As we approach the end of our first half term, I would like to thank the majority of year 10 for taking on the challenges that have faced us these last couple of months. We are constantly looking to review and improve in areas we know need our attention and I will be able to give you more details with regards to some of those changes affecting year 10 after half term in the next week.

Welcome!

The majority of year 10 have now settled into their routines and new ‘normals’ around the school and I would like to thank those students who have continued working hard throughout the past few weeks.

In order to continue bringing students back to a sense of normality, we will now be hosting two weekly live assemblies with Year 10; which will cover content from the PHSE syllabus as well as delivery of some key messages to the whole year group. Now we are settled, it is important to start re-building the sense of community within our bubble and develop those skills needed for life after GCSEs.

Welcome!

We have almost completed our first cycle of the fortnightly timetable and I would like to thank the majority of our year 10 students for following the new procedures and maintaining the high levels of positive behaviour that we expect of this year group.  We have been listening to feedback and realise the need to adapt what we are doing as we move forward through the term wherever possible. One of the issues we identified was the need for a water tap in the year 10 zone. We will be providing a mobile water fountain for students to use during lunchtimes and would ask that students come to school with a ready filled water bottle for their morning sessions.

Welcome!

Welcome back to a new term at Stratton Upper School.

It was such a pleasure watching Year 10 entering the school looking smart and refreshed ready for this year’s challenges. The first few days have went as smoothly as they could and our students are responding well to the new procedures and structures put in place this academic term.  It goes without saying that the next two years will be so important to your child’s pathway and it is my hope that we can work together to ensure our wonderful Year 10’s leave Stratton with a fantastic set of results. I look forward to helping your child achieve their GCSEs.
