5th March 2020
To all Parents/Carers
I am writing to inform you that Mrs Madeline Russell has formally stepped down from her position as a Trustee and Chairman of the Board of Stratton Education Trust (SET). She has been a committed and dedicated trustee and governor of the school for the last 30 years and has seen the school through many significant changes in that time. Having been a student at Stratton, Madeline became a parent governor when her daughters attended the school. She has also been a ‘grandparent' governor!
It had been Madeline’s intention to retire after a successful transfer to a multi-academy trust. Unfortunately, this has taken longer than was ever envisaged due to the wider political environment and, having delayed this decision for several months, she feels that now is the right time to rationalise and create time to focus on other activities. Madeline is delighted that Stratton Upper School will soon be joining Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT) and will remain a faithful supporter of the school through all her other work locally.
SET is looking to appoint a new Chairman for a short term of office to see us through the anticipated transition to CMAT. Mr Eddie Kane, as Vice Chair, has agreed to lead the next meeting in late March whilst a new chair is recruited.
I would personally like to thank Madeline for her unwavering devotion to the school over the years and wish her all the best for the future.
