Covid-19 (Coronavirus) – An update
You may be aware that the government met last Thursday to review the response to the Covid-19 virus.
While they confirmed new measures have now been put in place, most importantly the government confirmed that:
UK schools should remain open and continue to operate normally at this time
Stratton Upper School will continue to follow the government’s advice and will remain open until we are advised otherwise.
The government did announce an additional measure for schools that means:
School trips abroad will not be permitted
While we have no trips abroad planned at this stage, we will be reviewing what this means for our planned trips in July to Poland and Cambodia and will write to all parents separately about this matter.
We will continue to update you on the situation as new announcements are made by the government, and want to reassure you that the school’s leadership team are preparing for all possible scenarios. This is an extraordinary period of time for everyone, including schools, and I want to thank you for you continued patience and understanding.
Whilst the school remains open we will not be able to set work for students who are off for any reason including self-isolation. This is to ensure we are able to focus on lesson delivery and continuity of education for those in school.
For now, we encourage you to keep monitoring the government’s advice – the information can be found on the websites listed below:
