Rapid COVID-19 testing
Thank you so much for your support over the last two weeks, particularly with getting all our students though their Covid tests. By the end of Monday we will have carried out over 2000 student tests! All tests to date have been negative and we are so grateful that the students are back in school and benefitting from to face learning. Students have conducted themselves very sensibly and maturely during the testing sessions and we believe they are now confident to undertake these tests at home.
Awarding grades this summer
Next week we will be sharing more information directly with students of Years 11 and 13 about what they can expect next term and we will be explaining more about how Stratton is approaching the process of awarding grades this summer. The central message is that, despite the disruption they have experienced, our aim is for every student to have the best possible opportunity to be successful in the future and we want each student to leave with grades that reflect their ability. We would be very grateful if you could support the message that every lesson counts and that students will maximise their chance of success if they follow the support and guidance of their teachers.
We are still waiting for details from OFQUAL and Exam boards and these will be subject dependent so may come at different times for different subject areas. We will share further information as and when we have it.
Continuing IT issues
Please accept our apologies for the disruption and inconvenience caused by our IT outage as a results of a cyberattack that has affected the whole Trust. The IT teams across CMAT have been working hard over the last week to restore the systems and get us back up and running as soon as possible and we are hoping that the Stratton network will be fully operational again early next week. All staff and student passwords have been reset and students have been issued with their new passwords, which they should change as soon as possible. We really do appreciate your understanding and patience at this time.
Taylor Shaw, our catering providers would like to gather feedback from parents, students and staff on the service they offer. Covid restrictions in school have meant that a full service and menu are not available at the current time but Taylor Shaw would like to act on the feedback they receive and prepare and exciting launch of the full offer once the restrictions are lifted.
I would be grateful if you could complete the parent survey and encourage you son/daughter to complete the student survey by 12 noon on Friday 26th March. Your support in helping us to develop the catering offer would be much appreciated.
Best wishes for an enjoyable weekend.
